Student Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we handle data for the Student Program.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Email address: Required for account identification and notifications
  • School/College name: Required to verify student status
  • City: Required for location-based analytics and regional features
  • Country: Required for regional compliance and analytics
  • Enrollment confirmation: Your acknowledgment that you are a current student

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • IP address: For fraud prevention and rate limiting
  • Browser/device information: User agent string for analytics and bot detection
  • Referrer URL: To understand how you found us
  • Timestamp: When you joined the Student Program
  • Form timing data: Time taken to complete the form (bot detection)

No payment data: The Student Program is free. We do not collect any payment or billing information.

3. Who We Share Data With

We share your Student Program data only with essential service providers:

4. Data Security

We protect your student data with:

  • Encryption in transit: All data transmitted via HTTPS/TLS
  • Encryption at rest: Database encrypted on secure servers
  • Access controls: Limited to authorized team members only
  • Rate limiting: Protection against automated attacks
  • Bot detection: Honeypot fields and timing checks
  • Input sanitization: Protection against injection attacks

5. Data Retention

  • Student Program data: Retained until product launch + account activation, then merged with your user account
  • If you don't activate: Data deleted 12 months after product launch
  • If you request deletion: Data deleted within 30 days of your request
  • School/location data: Anonymized for aggregate analytics after account creation
  • Analytics data: Anonymized and retained for up to 24 months

6. Your Rights

6.1 All Students

  • Access: Request a copy of your Student Program data
  • Correction: Update your email, school, city, or country
  • Deletion: Request removal from the Student Program
  • Unsubscribe: Opt out of marketing emails

6.2 EU/UK Students (GDPR)

  • Right to data portability
  • Right to restrict processing
  • Right to object to processing
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

6.3 California Students (CCPA)

  • Right to know what data is collected
  • Right to delete your data
  • Right to opt-out of sale (we do not sell data)
  • Right to non-discrimination

6.4 Students Under 18 (Minors)

Age requirement: You must be at least 16 years old to join the Student Program. We do not knowingly collect data from students under 16.

Parental consent required: If you are between 16-17 years old, by joining the Student Program you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has consented to our collection and processing of your personal data as described in this policy.

Parental rights: Parents/guardians of students under 18 may contact us at [email protected] to access, correct, or delete their child's data, or to withdraw consent.

7. How to Delete Your Data

To remove yourself from the Student Program and delete your data:

  1. Email [email protected] with subject "Student Program Deletion Request"
  2. Include the email address you used to join
  3. We will confirm deletion within 7 days
  4. Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days

Note: Deleting your data will forfeit your 1 year free Lite plan access. This cannot be undone.
