What offline transcription covers
Offline transcription turns English speech into text using the local transcription pipeline and requires the local model and runtime to be installed. The word “offline” describes this processing step. It does not mean that every part of SpeakLingo, every connected application, or every account operation works without an internet connection.
If your goal is to draft an English paragraph, the offline language scope is a useful starting point. If you need transcription in another language, review the online multilingual mode instead. The 99+ language figure belongs to online transcription and should not be applied to the offline mode.
Choose a workflow around the text you need
An email draft, a project update or an outline can begin as a short spoken passage. Work in manageable sections, then read the resulting text before using it. Names, numbers, punctuation and specialist vocabulary deserve a separate check because a plausible sentence can still contain an important recognition error.
For example, draft the purpose of a project update first, then the progress and next steps. Keep editing and sending as deliberate actions. This is a writing method you can evaluate with voice transcription, not a promise that SpeakLingo automatically completes or sends the message for you.
Local transcription and the rest of your workflow
Local transcription has a narrower data boundary than a claim that nothing ever leaves your device. Online AI workflows involve submitted content, and enabled screen context can include a screenshot. The destination application may also synchronize the text you place in it.
Before using sensitive material, check the selected mode, enabled online features and your destination application’s settings. An offline transcription mode alone does not establish a compliance certification or make a cloud document private. Use your organization’s rules for the information you are handling.
What to check before getting started
Check Windows support, the language you intend to speak, microphone permissions and the setup requirements of the build you receive. Initial setup and account requirements are separate from local speech processing; this page does not promise a completely disconnected installation.
SpeakLingo’s public entry point is currently the waitlist. Join it for availability updates, and check the offered build and plan before relying on a particular workflow. No release date, price, trial entitlement or measured transcription speed is promised here.
